This is an opportunity for all C.A. members (especially those in the Hamilton, Kitchener, Cambridge and London areas) to come out and participate in this very important issue that’s before C.A. Southern Ontario. We will be discussing the motion of making C.A. Southern Ontario into Districts and the impact that will have (positive and negative) on the fellowship as a whole.

Please bring an open mind and an open heart and let’s all strive to do what’s best for this wonderful fellowship we all love!

Southern Ontario C.A. into 4 Districts

DISTRICT

A District is a geographical unit within an Area containing a number of groups within a close proximity, which find it necessary to unify. A District has the primary function of the unification of its groups by keeping in frequent contact with them, learning their problems and sharing ways to contribute to their growth and well being. It is suggested that ten (10) or more groups comprise a District and that each ten (10) groups elect a District Service Representative to sit on the Area Service Committee. When districting or re-districting, approval of the groups within each current or proposed District is essential. The proposed districting or re-districting should be approved by the Area Service Committee. As the number of groups within a District increases, the District should either split into two Districts or elect more District Service Representatives from such groups to the Area Service Committee.

Please note that this is "a work in progress" and not necessarily the final document that goes to Area for a vote.

The ad hoc committee plans to hold another committee meeting in January in either Hamilton or Kitchener so that C.A. members in the southwest can attend and participate.

We may then have a final committee meeting in Toronto and then have something for the GSR's to take back to their groups after that to vote on.
